Welcome to Mark’s Prairie, my new personal blog about the Mark/Marks Family and Mark’s Prairie. I will be transitioning content from the Mark Prairie Heritage website to this one as I will either be closing down that website or moving it to a new hosting company. Also, it was a difficult decision, but Mark Prairie Heritage as a 501(c)(3), will soon be no more. The board felt it had accomplished what it set out to do, which was to ensure that Mark Memorial Park and Schoolhouse were in good hands and would be around for future generations to enjoy! We are confident that the revitalized Mark Prairie Historical Society will be able to continue on with that same mission. Having two groups with the same mission seemed a bit redundant so it was decided to focus on the growth of the Historical Society. I believe that most of the former MPH members have now joined MPHS.
I am very excited about what the new Mark Prairie Historical Society board has accomplished in the short time that they have been together. I am hopeful that with continued support, they will be continue to thrive and bring more awareness and access to the lovely little historic property our ancestors left for the community to enjoy! Please continue to support them and stay involved! It is the only way to ensure the property’s future! Erin
